Sandipto Sarkar

Research Associate, 2018-Present

Sandipto completed his undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Master’s in Genetics. He then went on to pursue his doctoral studies at the University of Kansas Medical Center to study the role of the CCN family of matricellular proteins in breast and pancreatic cancer progression. In 2018, Sandipto joined Dr. Manish Shah’s laboratory at Weill Cornell Medicine as a post-doctoral fellow where he is studying the tumor microenvironment of gastrointestinal tumors, and mechanisms of immune evasion and immunotherapy resistance adopted by gastrointestinal cancers, particularly gastro-esophageal carcinoma. Outside of lab, Sandipto enjoys playing cricket and tennis with his friends and loves to explore different restaurants and cafes throughout the city.
