Job Opportunities

Post-Doc Fellow

The Shah Lab is recruiting a post-doctoral candidate to further ongoing research in Gastrointestinal Malignancies.  Dr. Shah’s clinical/translational laboratory focuses on understanding the implications of disease subtypes of gastrointestinal cancers and the mechanisms of resistance. We combine multi-disciplinary approaches to elucidate drug resistance mechanisms in gastric cancer.  We are seeking applicants with computational biology background or experience. We have amassed a large sample set of tissue samples with RNA seq expression analysis, WGS, and single cell RNA transcriptomics. We are focused on annotating these samples to understand pathophysiology as it relates to drug therapies.  The position is open to graduating Ph.D. students and current postdoctoral fellows.

Technician

We are seeking a research laboratory technician to help with ongoing laboratory projects focused on gastrointestinal cancers.  Activities will include handling and processing of tissue and blood samples, cell culture and transfection experiments, DNA and RNA sequencing, single cell processing, and spatial transcriptomics.  Experience with flow cytometry is a plus.  With training, we expect the technician to work with minimum supervision on genetic and cellular based experiments. A bachelor’s degree is required, and prior laboratory experience is preferred.
